Hi! I'm Katy (she/her). I'm an LGBTQIA affirming mental health counselor working with individuals, couples, teens, and families in the Denver area. I also provide open-minded sex therapy to individuals and couples.
Life can often feel messy and complicated. My goal as a therapist is to assist individuals and couples in sorting through it all. I specialize in couples' relationship counseling, treating issues with sexual desire, religious trauma and deconstruction, prenatal/postpartum changes, healing from infidelity, conflict resolution, non-monogamy/polyamory, coming out and gender exploration/transition and more. I believe counseling is all about finding yourself and understanding how to authentically connect in your relationships.
How I can help
My approach to counseling is holistic, integrative, and personalized, as I believe it is incredibly important to recognize and honor the uniqueness of each individual and each relationship. I am intentional in providing a space in which individuals, couples, and families can explore their beliefs and behaviors to find coping skills that work for them and process experiences and emotions that might be holding them back.
Individual counseling offers a personalized and confidential space for self-exploration, growth, and emotional well-being. Through one-on-one sessions I can help you gain insights into thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, leading to greater self-awareness and understanding. I provide a supportive environment where you can address personal challenges, and work towards positive change.
Prenatal or postpartum counseling both offer a range of benefits that include emotional support, coping strategies, and a safe space to explore the complexities of pregnancy and early parenthood. These forms of therapy can help to empower individuals to navigate these life transitions with greater resilience, emotional well-being, and a stronger foundation for their journey into parenthood.
Couples counseling offers a transformative space for partners to enhance their relationship and strengthen communication. Through counseling, couples can improve their understanding of each other's perspectives and needs, creating empathy and connection while providing a platform to address conflicts, trust issues, and communication breakdowns in a safe and supportive environment.
Sex therapy offers a range of benefits for both couples and individuals, including improved communication, enhanced emotional intimacy, and the acquisition of tools to address sexual concerns. By fostering understanding, openness, and healthy communication about sexual matters, sex therapy empowers individuals and couples to create more satisfying and fulfilling sexual relationships.
